  • We called Andrea's mom on speaker phone and as Andrea said "I'M ENGAGED!" she heard footsteps upstairs...
  • And turned around with a confused look on her face...
  • to see our parents decend upon us with...
  • shrieks of Mazel Tov and cameras flashing...
  • Needless to say the excitement was overwhelming...
  • And the hugs were unending.
  • When Andrea called her mom...
  • Laura answered with a whisper...
  • so as not to let Andrea hear her upstairs...
  • and then Andrea did the one thing that I was afraid of...
  • she asked her mom, "Where are you?" while I'm telling Andrea to scream "We're engaged"...
  • At which Laura replied, "In the bathroom at Nordstrom's"...
  • Which didn't phase Andrea at all because that happens at least once a week when she calls.
  • We couldn't stop taking pictures...
  • and welcoming each other to our families.
  • The surprises kept on coming...
  • and Merrell was all emotional...
  • Ken couldn't keep the smile off his face
  • And was I happy that my new Mom-in-law approved of the ring!!!
  • They made me reenact the proposal...
  • of how I did the "ring-switch"...
